November 3rd Colour Art Instead of NaNoWriMo

Hi folks, I’m returning to my blog after a brief absence. My absence was due to bereavement but I’ve also faced some tough personal decisions.

One writing decision I’ve made is to opt out of NaNoWriMo this year.

I haven’t given up on creative writing, far from it, but I felt that taking part in NaNo would be too much of a bind this time round. Therefore, I have chosen instead to share with you one Colour Art picture a day, on this blog.

I’ve had a little help, and a lot of inspiration, from a great artist/storyteller, Daria Song, whose book – ‘The Time Chamber’ I have been comprehensively coloring in. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude for keeping me sane through trying times with her extraordinary talent; I have a feeling it’s what she would have want me to do with her book.

You’ll find the first day of my little experiment into colouration just below this post. I hope you enjoy studying them and will agree to follow me on my journey over the next 28 days. Katie ❤

If you have any comments, as always, I’d love to hear from you, especially if you have any opinions on Art as therapy. Do you have any personal opinions on the subject? It would be awesome to know what you think, even if your comments aren’t directly related to my post.

P.S. Daria Song’s art work is widely available from high street stockists and websites such as Amazon. Her books are well worth taking the time to discover. As well as ‘The Time Chamber’ she has the ‘Time Garden’, which is an equally awesome book of line illustrations.
