Day 16 – How I heard about an opportunity to…

…attend my first literary festival

Dinefwr Literature Festival 2014

Hidden away in the depths of rural Wales is the beautiful estate of Dinefwr (pronounced dee-ne-vor). Dinefwr hosts an annual festival for literature which is also a celebration of history, music, mythology, and all things Welsh.

Much more low-key than the Hay Festival, which also takes place in Wales, I never-the-less found it to be a haven of peace and tranquility in which I could read, write, and share ideas with like-minded people.

The weather was very much in our favour. Held at midsummer, we enjoyed three days of glorious sunshine. Surrounded by rolling hills, woodland, grazing sheep, and within walking distance of the remains of a twelfth-century castle, I felt inspired. I left feeling refreshed, and my with batteries recharged; perhaps that’s no great surprise, as Dinefwr is renowned for its powers of renewal.

I heard about the opportunity to attend this wonderful festival through an email newsletter

Yes, that’s right. Email newsletters are most definitely where it’s at. I’m looking at creating one for this blog, so stay posted!

Thanks for reading.
