Return to Eden

The circle of life

Has gone full tilt.

We journey away from the sun

And into the dark.

We embrace the night

And all its shadows,

Its strange awakenings

Stirring the primitive

From peaceful slumbers.

Still in our shelters,

Our caves of brick,

We perform our daily rituals,

Ever denying the day when,

With stealth, and strength,

Nature calls us, claims us back.

The pathway returns to magic,

The elements of our ancestors,

Their myths, their rituals, their tears,

Still echo, always, in our prayers, our fears.
